Douglas Jamston and the Jam revolution (Archive #1)

[Archive #1--Originally emailed March 2006]

This is going to be overwhelming but take your time going through
these bands, there are some real good ones here (in my opinion):

You already know of Frankenfistermeister ( www.donavonf.com ). His first album is much better than his second. I think he somehow thought that he was reincarnated as Jamiroqui for his second album, but couldn't do it as well as him.

Matt Costa - www.myspace.com/mattcostamusic (one of my favorites
nowadays-jason showed me to him)

Apollo Sunshine - three weirdos so careful here, but completely unique
songs, especially when compared to every song they write: www.myspace.com/apollosunshine

Rocco DeLuca & The Burden: (another jason find) Check this one out
first: http://www.ironworksmusic.com/home.html and click "launch mp3
player" (listen to colorful first) ...then go to his other stuff if
you want.... http://www.myspace.com/roccodeluca (Listen to Dope
first). Player on his site: www.roccodeluca.com

Spoon: http://www.myspace.com/spoon

Rogue Wave: www.myspace.com/roguewave and more:
http://www.roguewavemusic.com/roguewave_home.html (Interesting band,
you might like though)

Abandoned Pools: http://www.myspace.com/abandonedpools

Mat Kearney: http://www.matkearney.com/_v3/ (i think i've sent to you
before)

Interpol: http://www.myspace.com/interpol (i'm sure you've heard
these guys, but i thought i'd throw it in)

Greenstreet: http://www.myspace.com/greenstreetband (not a full
fledged fan, but i like their sound quite a bit-blues/soul/rock)

State Radio: http://www.myspace.com/stateradio (you know this guy
from dispatch, but just in case)

Alex Lloyd: http://www.myspace.com/alexlloyd (just heard him a couple
of weeks ago, only listened to a few songs)

The Coral: http://www.myspace.com/thecoralseamusic (also belongs on
the Garden State soundtrack or a Wes Anderson movie)

Ray Lamontagne: http://www.myspace.com/raylamontagne (some rock, more
smoothness...cool raspy voice)

Dan Rockett: http://www.myspace.com/danrockett

Pallino the band: http://www.myspace.com/pallino

Joe Firstman: http://www.myspace.com/joefirstman

Sanctus Real: http://www.myspace.com/sanctusreal (least favorite of
the group, but i still like)

Tom Freund: http://www.myspace.com/tomfreundmusic (played with ben
harper but sounds nothing like him...more like tom petty's cousin)

Buddahead: http://www.myspace.com/buddahead

Mute Math: http://www.myspace.com/mutemath (donated by greg)

just a few things... i concur with many of these... mainly because i am about two years out of touch with music. but anyway: abandoned pools are good, interpol is tight, mute math is solid... and i am friends with pallino. actually, i will be joining the "front man" for bible study tomorrow. go me! go.

an endorsement by arod is an endorsement by Phil Spector himself.
