that music just happened (Archive #8)

[Archive #8--Originally sent September 17, 2007]

Gents, another round of music for you.

Andrew Bird
: http://www.myspace.com/andrewbird or www.andrewbird.net He amazes me with his music. Very different voice, different style and that's why his music is so good. I definitely recommend buying his album "Armchair Apocrypha". Apparently he could be a world renowned whistler and is a violin virtuoso. Listen to anything but you'll get a good feel for his music by listening to "Imitosis". (Thanks for this find Greg "Harper" Lee)

Joe Purdy: http://www.joepurdy.com/ . I'm sure most of you have heard of him by now but if you haven't, go listen and then be prompted by the Music Queen to download all of his albums. I think you can listen to all of his albums and all songs on them under the music page. I would definitely recommend the album: "Only Four Seasons". Certain songs that are real good: "The City", "Why Do I", "Come Back Down"

Steve Reynolds
: http://www.myspace.com/stevereynoldsmusic . Listen to "Forsaken" and "Miner's Lamp"...good sampling of his stuff

The Weepies: http://www.theweepies.com/ . Just good stuff. (Thanks for this one Jason)

William Fitzsimmons: http://www.myspace.com/williamfitzsimmons . Good mellow indie music. (Thanks Jason)

Matt the Electrician: http://www.myspace.com/matttheelectrician . Check out "my dog" first.

One Republic: http://www.myspace.com/onerepublic . This is a bit of a cop out for me just because they are getting more popular and it doesn't necessarily fit my style, but "Apologize" is a decent tune and i like the arrangement of it. Sometimes I walk out of my norm and explore and I'm not going to apologize for it.

Another plug for Eric Hutchinson: http://www.myspace.com/erichutchinson . Three new songs from his new album that's coming out sometime soon: "Oh", "Food Chain", "Ok It's Alright with me"

Another plug for Matt Costa: http://www.myspace.com/mattcosta . I think I mentioned him a long time ago but I have to push his only album: Songs We Sign again...it's really really good. He's on Jack Johnson's label but he is more up beat and has some interestingly good music styling's on his album. He's one of my favorite in the last five years.
