TOM CRUISE is preparing for take-off - after he was reportedly approached to star in a sequel to 1986 hit movie TOP GUN.
The actor has been asked to reprise his role as cocky fighter-pilot Maverick, 22 years after the first film.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "The idea is Maverick is at the Top Gun school as an instructor - and this time it is he who has to deal with a cocky new female pilot.

Goose is not in the sequel
I've got interesting/bad/terrible/scary/impregnating news to report here on DJ. Apparently Tom Cruise has been asked to play in the sequel for Top Gun. Top Gun is one of my favorite nostalgic movies of all time but I don't know what's worse: Top Gun II or Tom Cruise trying to reprise a roll he played well 22 years ago and will never play well again because he became ridiculous. Or maybe it's the fact that they are trying to go GI Jane on the sequel. Why do we need a sequel of Top Gun? Shouldn't they be focusing on the Goonies sequel?
